Career Pathways: Teaching
Career Pathways: Teaching includes panels and workshops each Spring for those aiming to teach at community colleges, CSUs, and liberal arts colleges. In Spring 2025, we are planning in-person and remote events. Zoom links will be sent the day before the session(s) for which students register. Interested graduate students and postdocs must register before 4:30pm at least one day before the session if you would like to attend. See below for the schedule and registration information.
IMPORTANT: If you are attending the Teaching Development Track in order to apply for the University Teaching Certificate program, you must register for and attend all sessions in that track. These sessions have been marked as *Teaching Development Track.

Keynote Address with Dr. Daniel Mann
Teaching Careers Unlocked: Strategies for Securing Your Ideal Job
Dr. Daniel Mann is the Executive Director of the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
After mentoring hundreds of graduate students around teaching and the academic job market, Dr. Danny Mann will give his best advice on how to attain a position at teaching-focused institutions. He will share effective practices and philosophies to help participants uncover their unique potential to begin a rewarding career at teaching-focused institutions.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Danny Mann is the Executive Director of the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Mann brings over a decade of experience as a leader in educational development, including leadership in several cross-institutional networks such as the POD Network, Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL), and systemwide network of UC Centers for Teaching & Learning. The majority of his career has been focused on supporting the pedagogical and professional development of graduate students and postdocs. His research centers around educational development for graduate students, professional development for educational developers, and pedagogical wellness. His PhD is in Psychology, concentrating in Cognitive Neuroscience.
