Supporting Graduate Students' Academic and Professional Success
Ahead of spring break, we thought we would bring you a blog post that’s a bit of a change of pace. Since the GradSuccess office is closed over the break, we will all be at home more and spending time with loved ones – of the human and animal variety. Read on to find out more about the pets of GradSuccess’ staff members (and to look at the cute photos)!
Meet the Pets: Sabrina
GradSuccess Team Member: Alexis
You can find Sabrina ‘helping’ Alexis with her work by chewing on paperback books. When Sabrina runs out of books to chew, cardboard is an acceptable alternative.
[Image Description: Two side-by-side photos of Sabrina, a fluffy orange and white cat. On the left she is happily lounging on a plush blanket. On the right she is laying on top of a short pile of books, keeping an eye on her surroundings.]

Meet the Pets: Sam, Nami, and Ozzy
GradSuccess Team Member: Judy
You can find them hanging out together. Nami, the pack leader, is sweet and goofy. Sam is very affectionate and loves eating peanut butter. And Ozzy is the youngest, but likes to think he’s the toughest, and loves playing tug-of-war.
[Image Description: On the right Sam, a large white dog sits amongst the throw pillows on a bed. In the middle, Nami is shown eyeing a shrimp on a disposable plate. On the left, Ozzy smiles for the camera in front of a wall of string lights.]

Meet the Pets: Little Kitty
GradSuccess Team Member: Sarah
You can find kitty acting as the apartment’s customs inspector, sniffing all incoming and outgoing packages and luggage. She is also fond of napping and stealing your seat when you stand up.
[Image Description: Little Kitty, a fluffy brown and white cat, is shown in two images. First, she is sitting inside an open suitcase looking at the camera. In the second image, she is curled up on a floor cushion where Sarah is also sitting.]

Meet the Pets: Valor and Eclipse
GradSuccess Team Member: Samantha
You can find them enjoying attention and their favorite treats, carrots (although we hear apples and watermelons are also hits with them). Valor is a fifteen-year-old former racehorse and Eclipse is only one and a half and was born wild.
[Image Description: A photo of Samantha and her partner with their horses. Valor is a brown horse with a white marking on his face and Eclipse is a darker horse. Both horses are looking at the camera.]

Meet the Pets: Rafu and T'Challa
GradSuccess Team Member: Hillary
You can find Rafu, thirteen years old, meowing loudly to show off his green cat pillow every morning. T’Challa, a hefty 15lbs, enjoys biting the ankles of passersby and keeping an eye on his mortal enemies the crows outside.
[Image Description: On the left, Rafu, an orange cat, looks dignified atop a pile of pillows. On the right, T’Challa shyly peeks at the camera from on top of a computer desk.]

Meet the Pets: Rayna and Maggie
GradSuccess Team Member: Brittany
You can find Rayna napping or walking in front of the camera during Zoom calls. Meanwhile, Maggie is more fond of hunting down household paper products to play with.
[Image Description: Rayna, a black short-haired cat, is shown relaxing in a carpeted tunnel, while Maggie, a brown and white cat, is tearing into a roll of paper towels on the kitchen floor.]
