You know it's spring when...the flowers start blooming, the temperature rises (in Riverside, straight up to the 90s), and GradSuccess is hiring!

Read on if you’re looking for summer employment, a position for the 2022-23 academic year, or a way to earn some extra money in addition to your TA-ship or GSR.

Just What Is GradSuccess?

GradSuccess is a unit of Graduate Division devoted to supporting grad students during their time at UCR through a diverse range of programs, events, expert consultations, and peer support. We mentor first-year students, train TAs, help you with problems in programming and statistics, offer writing assistance, and put on professional development and community building events.

OK, But Why Work for GradSuccess?

Well money, for one thing. The Coordinator and Lead Consultant positions pay the equivalent of a TA-ship or GSR Step 6 as well as fees and GSHIP during the academic year, while the 10% positions in GradQuant and the Graduate Writing Center pay $20 an hour and can be held in conjunction with a TA-ship or GSR.

But there’s lots of other great reasons to work in GradSuccess besides earning a paycheck. For instance, your GradSuccess co-workers are smart, ambitious folks pursuing graduate degrees all across the disciplines. Plus we share cute pet photos and wacky travel stories!

And in GradSuccess you can predict your work schedule – Coordinators and Lead Consultants work twenty hours per week and are not expected to be available on email or Slack outside their scheduled work hours.

Finally, you can expand your skill set! Ever been responsible for overseeing a budget, collaborating to plan a big event, or providing consultations? Working at GradSuccess allows you to gain concrete experience in a wide range of skills that have value both within and beyond the academy.
